As of 05/01/2016, in order to restore Corel Videostudio X4 and X6 functionality, I had to roll a version of "kernelbase.dll" back to 6.1.7601.19110 on my Windows 7/64-bit by uninstalling the following MS updates:
KB3126587
KB3126593
KB3140410
KB3146706
KB3147071
KB3153171
KB3175024
To check the current version it, open Windows Explorer, navigave to C:WindowsSysWOW64, right-click on KernelBase.dll -> Properties -> Details tab.
Shame on you, Microsoft, for breaking it! A note in KB2136587 to update Videostudio by downloading patches from the software vendor doesn't count, as Corel doesn't have them for X4, nor for X6. BTW, even your own MovieMaker was crashing, due to the same reason.
When you need to use a video editor and sudden of all they stopped working and you have to spend 2 days to troubleshoot - this is very bad user experience, I can tell you.
